Tuesday night training session was very interesting. I decided to start my night off with some handling sequences. I was out earlier in the day doing only Contacts and just very basic drills we needed to work on. So..... my friend Sarah came up with a HUM DINGER of a sequence.... as I walked it and thought about how I would handle it I was concerned about how far Tag's stride would be for me to direct him into a threadle I needed to get through.
As I prepared Tag at the start line and started the sequence he went barrelling into the tunnel and over the jump.... and of course I was not in the correct position and he came full force into the back of my legs because he couldn't stop as the grass was wet PLUS he didn't have a chance to stop. He took my legs straight up in the air and I landed right on my back and then smack went my head. Sarah and Dave came running over and Tag didn't know what to do... so I looked at him and said " Are you OK ?" and he came slinkering in with a big smile checking to see if Mom was ok... despite the pain I did have ...I couldn't resist his pearly whites. Sarah and Dave thought I looked like the pin and tag was the bowling ball.
Meet Tag
- TAG ALONG
- Welcome to my Blog of "TAG" he has brought so much joy to my life. I have learned alot about the sport of AGILITY. Tag is my first Agility dog and when I went Shopping for a strong, driven, fast Border Collie.... BOY OH BOY did I get it. He is very driven, has extreme intensity and is the speed of light. Tag is 4 years old and we have been training together since he was 8 weeks old... I'm very proud of our accomplishments the past 4 years as we had many hurdles to jump. I have been very thankful for the great support system that I have. My team has encouraged me through every training session, every trial and seminar. Plus the support system I have at home makes it all possible :)
too bad there are no sound effects in Agility, that would have been a STRIKE for sure!!!!
