Today was such a beautiful day, Tag and I went for a long walk and as we headed home we went to our park and sat on a bench and looked around. He perched himself right beside me and he just enjoyed the warm sun and all the smells in the air. I started thinking about the past year and all the memories and moments that have meant alot to me. We had a great 2009 and we will have a fantastic 2010
Tag's Song - Tag has a song that we usually sing once or twice a week and as soon as you start it off he just takes over. His head is high in the sky and howls his heart out. The higher your pitch goes the longer and stronger his howl is.
Going to Nationals in Ottawa --- How amazing is that! first Regionals and our first Nationals experience all in one year. I'm so proud of us both to make it this far
Placing 1st at Regionals in the Saturday's Jumpers course... at the time I didn't fully understand the accomplishment. So much was going on in my head and the day was so busy. When I came home and had the time to think back about the day and that run and what an amazing accomplishment this trully was. First place out of so many many awesome fast 22 inch regular dogs... I think we surprised alot of people.
Calgary, April 2009 Starters Jumpers course - Our first Q in starters Jumpers, Tag ran this course in 17.3 seconds we just ran our hearts out and it felt so damn good. We had an amazing connection that run and we both did our jobs
Calgary, November 2009 - We ran a Gamblers course on the Saturday afternoon. The gamble was set up with a tunnel - out to a jump and then he had to turn away from me and take the 12 weave poles all at a very far distance. I was calm and handled him very well and he did his job. He popped out on the very last weave pole but I didn't care because 3 months earlier we couldn't come close to completing an end gamble and now he has sailed right up to Masters Gamble. I will always remember this run and I'm so very proud of him
May 2009 - We were out at Bogdons on one or our regularly scheduled training nights. It had rained so the grass was a bit wet but nothing to serious. Sarah had me working on my Front Cross's and my timing as this is something we have been working on for a long time and still are. I had to lead out away's and the timing needed to be perfect so he knew where we were going next. So I get out there tell him " OK " he blasts over the jumps ... of course my timing was late so he slides right behind my knees and takes my legs out from me and I land square on my back. No hands to break the fall ? NOPE smack on my back and ass... the wind was definately taken from me and I just laid there in pain and Tag came running over to me slinkering down smiling at me and he was so sorry. It was not even his fault it was mine.
Tub Time - Tag loves to throw his toys in the tub with me when I have a bath. yeah it gets very gross but he toss's it in and I ask him " what are you doing ?" and he gives me a big smile and I know that he is just standing there to see how long I can handle it in the tub with me before I throw it and spray everything with water
February 2009 Terry Simons -- I learned so much from Terry's seminar. It was a true light bulb moment for me and I'm very excited to participate in his 2010 seminar. Tag and I have come a long way since last February.
I have goals for 2010 and with our continuing hard work and positive attitude I know we will do really well.
Meet Tag
- TAG ALONG
- Welcome to my Blog of "TAG" he has brought so much joy to my life. I have learned alot about the sport of AGILITY. Tag is my first Agility dog and when I went Shopping for a strong, driven, fast Border Collie.... BOY OH BOY did I get it. He is very driven, has extreme intensity and is the speed of light. Tag is 4 years old and we have been training together since he was 8 weeks old... I'm very proud of our accomplishments the past 4 years as we had many hurdles to jump. I have been very thankful for the great support system that I have. My team has encouraged me through every training session, every trial and seminar. Plus the support system I have at home makes it all possible :)
I love the way you broke down your moments from last year and the things that make Tag who he is. All work and a little play :)
